Photography Mentorship with Donald Quintana

Donald Quintana, award-winning nature and wildlife photographer, conservation visual storyteller, educator, and tour leader, offers a personalized one-on-one mentorship designed to help photographers grow with greater confidence, clarity, and purpose.

Whether you want to strengthen your technical skills, improve your composition and post-processing, prepare images for competitions or publication, develop a stronger portfolio, or become a more effective visual storyteller, this mentorship provides the individualized guidance, honest feedback, and accountability needed to move your photography forward.

Rather than following a one-size-fits-all curriculum, the mentorship is shaped around your experience, interests, challenges, and long-term photographic goals.

What the Mentorship Includes:

Monthly One-on-One Mentoring Sessions

Meet with Donald each month for a personalized 60–90 minute session conducted through Zoom, Google Meet, or a similar platform. Sessions may include image reviews, post-processing demonstrations, portfolio development, competition preparation, assignments, or discussions about your current photographic challenges.

Personalized Image Critiques

Receive thoughtful and constructive feedback that helps you understand what is working, what could be strengthened, and how choices involving composition, light, backgrounds, depth of field, timing, and processing affect the final image.

Post-Processing Guidance

Develop a more confident and efficient workflow using Adobe Bridge, Camera Raw, and Photoshop. Instruction may include image organization, global and selective adjustments, layers and masks, dodging and burning, sharpening, and preparing polished files for competitions, publication, printing, or online presentation.

Assignments and Accountability

Receive assignments based on your individual needs and goals. These may include field exercises, composition studies, image-selection challenges, visual storytelling projects, portfolio development, or post-processing practice.

Portfolio and Competition Preparation

Learn how to evaluate your own work more objectively, select your strongest photographs, build a cohesive portfolio, avoid common presentation problems, and prepare images for photography competitions, exhibitions, galleries, and publication opportunities.

Visual Storytelling Development

Move beyond creating individual photographs by learning how to recognize meaningful story ideas, research your subject, develop a shot list, create a connected body of work, and communicate something deeper through your images.

Ongoing Support

Receive ongoing email and text support between scheduled sessions for questions, image feedback, assignments, equipment considerations, and other photography-related guidance.

Mentorship Investment

Standard Membership

• $325 per month with a 12-month commitment.

Founding Membership Opportunity

Because this mentorship is being introduced with a small group of dedicated photographers, a limited number of Founding Memberships are available at a special rate of $295 per month.

As long as you remain enrolled, your Founding Member rate will never increase.

How It Works

Begin by completing a photography vision and direction questionnaire. This helps identify your current experience, interests, challenges, and goals. Donald will then develop a personalized direction for your mentorship and schedule your first one-on-one session.

Throughout the year, your sessions, critiques, assignments, and discussions will build upon one another, allowing you to measure your progress and continue developing your technical abilities, creative vision, and confidence.

This mentorship is designed for photographers who are ready to invest in their growth, receive honest and constructive feedback, and take consistent steps toward becoming the photographer they want to be.
